We wished they were there
As we walked down the aisle
Holding new babies
Their hug and a smile
We mourned each their absence
At every new milestone
Knowing if we called
They wouldn’t answer the phone
Perhaps the biggest disgrace
Is that in the last year
We went from wanting you with us
To I’m glad you’re not here
