On the unseasonal rains we had during the first week of the war

Talk to me about rain in October
Speak of the clouds swinging by
And the rains that tumble to the charred, broken earth
As they topple their cradles from up high

When last did you see it rain in October?
With showers that blast to the ground
As they muffle the cries of heartache and grief
While the dead lie with ne’er a sound

So tell me of drops that seep in the soil
And wash away summer dust
How is the weather so cool and composed
While the country sits numb and crushed

Let the water cleanse our hearts and our souls
As we struggle to see through the haze
But have you ever seen it rain in October
As it has these past few days?
